Drapery Panels Add Just The Right Look

The mood of your room can affect how you think and feel every day. The room arrangement, decor and colors can have a huge impact on us. We consider your windows and your window treatments to be the backdrop of your home and the Designers at Read Design have ideas that will influence your mood and your daily life. This is not new. For years researchers have studied how color can affect the different aspects of our lives. Our Designers can help you create the perfect environment for each room of your home.

Drapery Panels For A Dining Room In Frisco, Tx

We have a client from Frisco, Texas who stopped by our Plano Showroom. She wanted a new look for her Dining Room but didn’t know exactly what she wanted. Maybe new paint or perhaps new furniture.. she just didn’t know! We made an appointment to see her home and the first piece that stood out to us was her beautiful chandelier. This definitely would stay. She also had a very nice contemporary piece of art with a ton of color that hung above her sideboard. That too would stay. These were our two inspirational pieces. We decided to create a transitional look with both furniture and color. First, we decided to keep the wall color, her rug, and her sideboard. We needed a fresh Dining Set to get away from the traditional style. Her french doors lead to an enclosed atrium so we chose not to cover the doors with shades, but rather added drapery panels to frame and soften the opening. We selected the most beautiful linen and metallic sheer fabric from Kravet Couture. Then we had the rod and finials hand painted combining gold and silver metallic paint. This created a sophisticated light and airy look. We were both very pleased with how the room came together.

Reupholstery

We took two chairs that our client had owned for years and added a few modern touches to the otherwise very traditional chairs. We had them painted in the same metallic style as the rods and reupholstered the chairs with soft green velvet fabric. To add a little color, we made a roll pillow using an embroidered Kravet fabric.

This was one of my favorite projects. I loved bringing together the traditional and contemporary and the gold and silver finishes. This new look showcases her chandelier, painting, and atrium (to which she has added planted) and makes this dining room one of the most inviting spaces in her home.

Long Drapery Panels For A North Dallas Home

Our North Dallas client bought an existing home and visited our Southlake showroom to get ideas on what to do with her newly remodeled family room windows. She let us know that she only needed privacy in the evening and, because she loves the outdoors, wanted to keep it light and airy during the day. Her favorite colors are dark blue and green, not surprising considering her love of the outdoors and nature.

Here is a perfect way to control how a customer feels in their home. Our team in Southlake suggested that she use a simple Roller Shade from Hunter Douglas for an inexpensive solution to the nighttime privacy issue. They will only be lowered at night and go up during the day, seemingly disappearing into the headrail. She can still see the beautiful clouds in the blue sky and yet have privacy when she needs it. Perfect! We also added the new PowerView Motorization with the Hub to make it easy to control from her iPad. To finish, they suggested drapery panels to add color and softness to the room and to make the panels long enough to go from the top of the upper windows to the floor. This created a dramatic look and connect the windows while drawing your eyes up and making the room feel bigger. They used fabric in a navy color and contemporary design. After having everything installed, she told us this is now her favorite room in the house because of colors and how everything flows so well. She loves it and we do too!
